Students can locate Google Drive through ClassLink. Students log into ClassLink with their Red Clay Google credentials.
Google Drive is a file storage service created by Google. Files are saved to the cloud and can therefore be accessed by users at any time and from any device. Users can also easily share and collaborate on Google files with others.
Every file in the district managed Google Drive goes through filtering software that scans for language.
Red Clay issues Google for Education accounts for all students and educators. Therefore, these users have unlimited Google Drive storage.
Red Clay recommends that students organize their Google Drive files by grade level and by content area. First, create a grade level folder and move your files into that folder. Then, within that folder add more folders for each content area. Sort your files into content area folders.
Students should be sure to add titles to their Google Drive files to help make searching for files easier.
Every email sent and received from a school email account (whether from any home, school or public computer or mobile device) goes through filtering software that scans for language and images.
If a student receives any inappropriate email, it should be reported to the school principal immediately.
Students in grades K-5, do not have access to Gmail.
Students in grades 6-8, have access to Internal Gmail. These students are able to email anyone in the @redclay.k12.de.us domain.
Students in grades 9-12, have full access to Gmail.
Students that have access to their Gmail account may use them to email their teacher.
Google Classroom is not used in Red Clay. All teachers use Schoology as a way to communicate and provide students with online instruction. Click here to learn more about Schoology.
