Google 2-Step Verification
To strengthen the security of accounts, all employees will be required to enable Google 2-Step Verification (also known as MFA which stands for Multi-Factor Authentication). This added layer of protection is important due to the significant increase in phishing attempts across the district, including messages sent from compromised teacher accounts and targeting students. Unfortunately, both staff and students have fallen victim, and in some cases money has been lost.
2-step verification adds protection by making sure the person logging in is actually you, not someone trying to access your account.
After February 28, 2026, you will not be able to log into your district Google account or other district applications without 2-Step Verification enabled.
There are three options for authentication:
- ⭐️Option #1: Directions via text (this is the easiest and recommended method)⭐️
- Option #2: Directions via app (no phone number required)
- Option #3: Directions via password manager (no phone required)
Locked out?
If you are prompted for 2-Step Verification and you do not have your alternate device set up, do not panic – please call the Help Desk and they can verify your identity and generate a temporary backup code to get you logged in.

What does 2-step verification mean?
2-Step Verification adds a second step to the sign-in process to confirm your identity. After entering your password, you must approve the sign-in using your phone or a password manager.
This second step provides tighter security because it requires access to a device (or password manager) you physically have. The verification request is time-limited and tied to that specific sign-in, making it much harder for anyone else to access your account. This extra layer helps prevent unauthorized access and keeps accounts more secure.
