Portfolios

Portfolios

Both students and educators need to communicate their achievements and to reflect on what they learn. Portfolios provide them with the ability to quickly and easily collect, organize, and share their work with others.

The Red Clay Consolidated School District has permissioned that portfolios be available to teachers, administrators, and students.

  • Before using Portfolios, be sure to check your personal privacy settings. Click the arrow at the top right corner next to your name. Click Settings from the dropdown menu then Privacy Settings.
  • Change the privacy setting for the portfolio and other content by clicking the empty boxes. The left column correlates with the type of content in question. The column headings indicate the level of user that has access to view the information contained in the content.
    • Students and teachers have the ability to edit their privacy settings.
    • To learn more about setting Privacy controls for your Schoology profile, click here.
  • Create a portfolio from your profile page by clicking your name in the top right corner of the Schoology screen. Then click Portfolio under your profile picture.
    • To learn how to create a portfolio, read the Schoology Help Center article, by clicking here!
    • Read some quick tips about portfolios by clicking here: Portfolios Information Slide
    • View a sample portfolio by clicking here: Courtney's Sample Schoology Portfolio
    • Important features to note:
      • Students are able to see their classmates' portfolios unless the student changes their privacy settings to No One.
      • A user can keep their portfolio set as private, but share the link with an individual and allow just that person to view the portfolio.
      • You do not need to be a Schoology user to view a shared portfolio.
      • Portfolios can be exported out of Schoology for users that have graduated or no longer have access to the platform.
