Google Drive Assignment App

Google Drive Assignment App
  • Review this article in the Schoology help center for guidance on implementing and using the Google Drive Assignments app.
  • There are some limitations to the new Google Drive Assignment App in Schoology. Be sure to check out Schoology's Troubleshooting Guide when using this new feature.
  • When Schoology Assignments are copied to other courses or saved to Resources, the assignment will only retain information that is native to Schoology (assignment title, description, etc.) and static files (links, PDFs, etc.). Google Drive Assignments will not remain attached. Google Drive Assignments will require manual re-attachment once the Schoology assignment has been added to its destination course. Click here for further instructions.

Troubleshooting help for the Google Drive Assignment App:

Have you or your students linked Schoology and Google accounts, but document access and viewing remain an issue, particularly when using Google Assignment App? Here are simple steps to re-establish the connection between Schoology and Google.

If the Google Assignment Application inside of Schoology is not working properly for teachers or students, the following simple steps will take you through a process of revoking Schoology's access to Google Drive, and then re-establishing the link between Google and Schoology.

This method seems to be working for students in other reports.

  2. Select My Account.
  3. Under Sign-In and Security, click Connected Apps and Sites.
  4. Under Apps connected to your account, open Manage Apps.
  5. Select Schoology.
  6. Click Remove.
  7. Now, go back to Schoology, and connect again:
  8. Select a Google Assignment
  9. Re-Authenticate

Option 3: Check Google Account Settings in Schoology:

  1. Under Resources, select Apps.
  2. Select Google Drive Resource App from the left menu.
  3. Select Options > Account Settings.
  4. Check correct account is signed in. If not, log into correct account.

Option 4: Troubleshooting Tip: Force Log Out

  1. Navigate to the Assignment (where they see My Documents)
  2. Visit this URL: https://lti-submission-microsoft.app.schoology.com/authorize/logout
  3. Navigate back to the assignment and reconnect their Google Drive account by following these instructions.

Option 5: Students see this error message: "We couldn't load your document because there is a problem with your instructor's account. Please ask your instructor to reconnect their account to Schoology.”

  1. Go into any class in Schoology.
  2. Click Add Materials.
