Google Meet

The most significant shift in moving from Zoom to Google Meet is how we think about meeting links.

• Zoom typically requires you to schedule a specific time or set a meeting as "Recurring" to keep the link active.
• Google Meet treats every link as an ongoing meeting room. You will not have to update the link. 

You can click that same link today, tomorrow, or three months from now, and it will always take you to the same meeting room. There is no need to "start" a meeting in an app. You simply click the link from an email or a calendar invitation and you’re in. 

Google Meet allows us to:

• Simplify our Toolbox: Meet is built directly into our school Google account. 
• Security First: Meet integrates with our student safety filters and provides "Host Controls" specifically designed for K-12 classrooms.
• Browser-Based: No more "Update Available" pop-ups. Meet runs entirely in your Chrome browser.
