Office of the Deputy Superintendent

About Our Department

The Office of the Deputy Superintendent is responsible for leading the implementation of the district’s strategic plan. Our department's responsibilities include developing reform strategies to close achievement gaps, moving schools to serve students in less restrictive environments, and empowering central offices to better support school improvement efforts.

This office oversees the following departments:

Collectively, our departments are responsible for key strands of work in the district including: 

  • Providing customized, multi-tiered levels of support to K–12 school sites via school support teams that support the sites with direct guidance, instructional coaching and leadership development
  • Supporting teachers in implementing core curriculum and instruction aligned with the Common Core State Standards
  • Redesigning the district's special education service delivery model and promoting inclusive practices
  • Overseeing the strategic planning process
  • Developing board policies and administrative memorandum
  • Enhancing internal communications and employee engagement
