James Tevebaugh contacted Warner Elementary School several months ago to introduce the Legacy Markers Program, a community initiative that has been active since 2012. The program preserves plaques, memorials, and historical markers throughout the region. Recognizing the monument's significance behind Warner Elementary, Tevebaugh expressed a keen interest in including it in the program's restoration efforts.

The essence of the Legacy Markers Program extends beyond mere restoration; it encompasses an educational component aimed at fostering a sense of stewardship among the younger generation. Not only does the program seek to clean and restore the monument, but it also aspires to impart valuable skills to the students involved. In a collaborative effort, staff invited Warner's AVID Ambassadors and Cab Calloway School of the Arts students to participate in this meaningful endeavor.
