Alexis I. du Pont High School Holds First Career Day and Job Fair

Alexis I. du Pont High School recently held its first annual Career Day and Job Fair. The purpose was to create a student-centered experience to inspire students to take responsibility for future career opportunities. There were more than 250 students and over 20 community partners in attendance.

Students could connect with career mentors, participate in on-the-spot interviews, build relationships with local employers, and apply for paid training programs. "We're often unsure where to find jobs. It's hard to find jobs if you have any extra-curricular activities," stated a group of 10th graders, "This event is beneficial."

Before the job fair segment, community partners conducted a career panel. The panelist imparted words of wisdom and detailed the job application process and best tips and practices.

Congratulations to Alexis I du Pont High School, Assistant Principal Dr. Lurleen Black, Charles Schneider, the AIHS staff and students, and our community partners for organizing an impactful event.
