Superintendent Search Information
As you may know, our Superintendent, Dr. Merv Daugherty, recently announced that he will be leaving Red Clay for another opportunity. The School Board has already begun the process for a search for a new superintendent. The Board discussed this plan at its August 28 workshop, which it approved at the September 12 Board meeting. The Board views public input as critical to the process and outcome and has created a number of opportunities for community input – an online survey, a Facebook page, community meetings – called Community Conversations – as well as input at public meetings and in writings to the Board. The survey and Facebook page are now live and available. You can find them on the district website redclayschools.com. The Community Conversations will occur on the following dates and at the following locations:
Monday October 1 at 4:30 pm at Stanton Middle School
Wednesday October 3 at 7 pm at Cab Calloway School of the Arts
Thursday October 4 at 3 pm at the distance learning labs at McKean High School, A.I. DuPont High School and Conrad Schools of Science
Tuesday October 9 at 7 pm at John Dickinson High School
Wednesday October 10 at 7 pm Warner Elementary School
Topics of discussion will include what the district does well, how the district can improve, and what qualities the Board should look for in the next district leader. The Board considers your input vital and hope you will participate in the online survey and attend a Community Conversation. If not, please let the Board know your thoughts. Your input is critical to the selection of our next leader and the future of Red Clay Schools.

Superintendent Search Survey
The Red Clay Board of Education encourages all members of the community including parents/guardians, students, teachers, building administrators, staff, businesses, and residents within the school district to participate in this on-line survey as part of our superintendent search process. Your comments will be critical in informing revisions to the superintendent position description as well as the position vacancy announcement. The survey, which consists of seven items and should take less than 10 minutes to complete, is open on the Red Clay Consolidated School District website until October 10, 2018.
All responses are confidential and will remain anonymous; some comments may be consolidated to clarify common themes. Thank you for your time and interest. Your participation is important to the success of our Superintendent search efforts!
