School messenger Sunday 5.3.20

Good evening Skyline families, this is Mr. Rumford the Principal of Skyline Middle School with some important announcements.

I hope everyone is still doing well and staying healthy.  We really miss working with our students every day at school.

Next week will be week 6 of our remote learning plan.  It is also Teacher Appreciation Week.  As the principal of Skyline, I am very fortunate to have such a talented group of teachers who do an outstanding job with our students.  This has been even more evident during this remote learning time frame as our teachers continue to connect with our students and provide creative and engaging activities for m.  I hope you will take a minute to show our teachers how much you appreciate them by sending them an email to thank them for all they continue to do.

You can also nominate a Skyline teacher for Delaware Today’s Top Teachers of 2020! Two Red Clay educators made the list last year, and we’d love to see our school represented. Nominate a teacher by May 18 at

On Wednesday May 6th at 11 am Skyline Middle School will join Heritage Elementary School and members of Parkview Church in distributing Boxes of Hope to our families in need.  While following state and district mandates for safety and social distancing, volunteers will simply drop the Boxes of Hope into the trunks of cars in the car line.  The car line will enter at the Skyline Middle School entrance and travel down to the front of the building where volunteers will load the cars.  Guidelines are: 1 box per car and first come first served.  There will be approximately 200 boxes to be handed out.  Boxes will include items such as cereal, pasta, fruit snacks, coffee, hygiene kits and socks.

If you have any questions at all, please email me at

Please remember to follow the social distancing guidelines, wearing a mask in public and other precautions like staying home.  These are the best ways to keep you and your families safe.

Thank you and have a good evening.
