Fire Company Visits Richey

On Friday, October 19, Minquas Fire Company brought an engine and rescue squad. Sparky (NFPA's national mascot for fire safety) and Breanna (fire prevention ambassador for MFCA) traveled from Singerly Fire Company to assist with teaching fire prevention. The students were able to tour the engine, saw a gear demonstration (and some of their teachers get  dressed up). They were also taught key fire prevention saying such as "Get Out, Stay Out," "Get Low and Go," "Stay 3 feet from the heat," and "Stop, Drop, Cover Your Face, and Roll." The were taught to ask parents to check smoke alarms every month, practice fire drills in the home, and to designate a meeting place outside of the home in case of an emergency.
