Visit from the Brandywine Zoo!
We continued to learn about some of the animals we can visit at the Brandywine Zoo! We enjoyed our recent zoo visit which was all about Turtles specifically the Box Turtle. We listened to a nonfiction book about turtles and then talked about their habitats. We met Mandrake the Box Turtle and learned that she is a female which we can tell by her flat belly. We also learned that box turtles have that special name because they are the only turtles that close up their shell like a box when they tuck their head and legs into their shell. Our visit ended with a good bye song and a special gift for our classroom- a box turtle cuddle friend that looks like Mandrake!
