Dear Mote staff,

Red Clay Consolidated School District and Mote Elementary School are committed to protecting the health of our students and staff. This letter is to provide an update regarding the recent sampling results at our school.

Delaware Department of Education and the Department of Public health partnered with the District to test all of the drinking sources in our building. Fixtures that tested above the state threshold of 7.5ppb (parts per billion) were removed from service and will be retested before use.

Below are the drinking sources in our building that tested above the threshold. All other drinking sources have been tested and are below the state threshold.

Tested March 2, 2023

Teachers Lounge Water Fountain: Level = 24 ppb
Room 124 Water Fountain: Level = 46 ppb
Room 127 Water Fountain: Level = 7.8 ppb
Room 103 Water Fountain: Level = 7.8 ppb
Room 105 Water Fountain: Level = 130 ppb
Room 106 Water Fountain: Level = 16 ppb
Room 107 Water Fountain: Level = 23 ppb
Room 111 Water Fountain: Level = 25 ppb
Room 223 Water Fountain: Level = 8 ppb
Room 226 Water Fountain: Level = 9.3 ppb
Room 227 Water Fountain: Level = 13 ppb

All of these fountains will be removed or replaced. There are numerous filtered water stations throughout the building that tested below the threshold.
