Best Buddies
Hello Heritage Community!
We are excited to officially launch the Best Buddies Program at Heritage Elementary School. Your students were introduced to the Best Buddies Program during their lunch this past Thursday.
What is Best Buddies?
Best Buddies is an organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one frienships for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Best Buddies programs foster social opportunities and cultivates friendships, inclusion, and leadership for people with and without disabilities throughout school and into adulthood. At Heritage, Best Buddies offers rich and diverse ways to teach awareness, integrate students with disabilities with their peers and nurture genuine friendships for students of all abilities.
