International Baccalaureate senior Lauren Bodnar’s Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) project this year was to host a toy drive for a local charity Kind to Kids. This non-profit organization collects toys during the holiday season and distributes them to the 700 or so foster children living in Delaware.
After a slow start, Bodnar and her Honor Society advisor were able to collect over 100 items for the drive. Their total more than doubled last year’s result when then senior Rebecca Manthorpe staged a similar toy drive.
The CAS project is a required component for IB diploma students. They are required to organize and implement a service project during their senior or junior year.
