summary

The proposed conversion of Thomas McKean High School into the Thomas McKean Innovation Center represents a strategic, data-supported, and community-endorsed approach to improving educational offerings, enrollment equity, and program innovation while more efficiently utilizing district resources.  Scheduled to launch in August 2027, this model aligns with the district’s long-term strategic goals and positions Red Clay as a pioneering leader in secondary education.

A BOLD FUTURE FOR OUR STUDENTS

Beginning August 2027, Red Clay’s McKean Innovation Center will redefine secondary education, giving students cutting-edge learning experiences, opportunities, and industry-recognized credentials.

The Red Clay Consolidated School District will transform Thomas McKean High School into the Thomas McKean Innovation Center. Beginning in August 2027, the McKean Innovation Center will offer high school students access to cutting-edge Career & Technical Education (CTE), industry-recognized credentials, early college credit opportunities, and hands-on innovation experiences.

This initiative supports Red Clay’s Strategic Planning goal to increase the number of graduates prepared for future workforce and college opportunities through an analysis of secondary campuses, programming, and enrollment as each relates to equitable opportunities across all schools.
