Welcome, students!

The James H. Groves Adult High School is committed to providing quality education services for adult learners in the Red Clay Consolidated School District, City of Wilmington, and surrounding areas. Our programs offer adults the academic opportunities to earn a State of Delaware high school diploma or a GED®. We also offer instruction in Adult Basic Skills (ABE), English as a Second Language (ESL), and Career and Employment preparation. Students who complete our programs create a pathway for greater achievement. 

Our graduates become more likely to gain or advance in employment, enroll in college, training programs, or join the military. Successful adult students are more equipped with skills to help their children with school work and encourage others to be lifelong learners. Adult students who are motivated, attentive, and have personal goals to achieve have come to the right place! Red Clay Adult Education teachers are experienced, skilled instructors who can help adult learners achieve their goals and plan for future endeavors. As I enter my 26th year in education and 17th year in adult education, I am passionate about creating opportunities for all adult students so they may be able to achieve their educational and professional goals.  Adults are unique learners who bring with them many skills and experiences which we hope to harness to enhance their learning.  We hire the best teachers to greet our students in a welcoming and nurturing educational environment and meet each student where they are academically.  

We are excited to welcome students to our new location at A.I. duPont High School and we are looking forward to working within our new community to best serve all learners.  I am proud to be part of the Red Clay family and look forward to a wonderful school year.
