• We aim to facilitate open and updated communication with our McKean family.

Be assured that the teachers and staff miss all of you and being in school.

We hope everyone is safe, healthy, and productive in this time.

End of Year Collection and Distribution for students in grades 9, 10, and 11

(Click here for 12th grade ONLY collection information)

WHAT: Collecting chromebooks and chargers, sports uniforms, and other school property. Giving any of your personal property that you left in the building, award certificates for select students, and a newly purchased gift for every student and graduate.

    • At McKean High School: June 5th, 8th, and 11th from 8am-2pm (alphabetical by last name, except 11th where anyone can show as last chance)
      • 8-9:30am (A-F)
      • 9:30-11am (G-K)
      • 11am-12:30pm (L-P)
      • 12:30-2:00pm (Q-Z)
    • At Baltz Elementary: June 10th from 10am-1pm
      • May use the front entrance or simply stay in your vehicle and use the front of school circle for curbside drop-off and pick-up.
    • At Warner Elementary: June 10th from 10am-1pm
      • Please use the auditorium entrance from 18th Street, marked by our McKean yard signs.

HOW: Anyone entering the building or interacting within 6 feet of another person must wear a mask. However, our goal is that students won’t need to leave their vehicles.

    • Basic Procedure: Students/Parents will pull up to the pool entrance in front of the auxiliary gym.  (Staff will lbe in the parking lot to greet and direct you). We will have a table set up outside of the Aux gym (weather permitting) or Pool Lobby.
    • Staff will take Chromebooks and other items (they will open a large bag and ask students to place chromebook and charger into the bag and check students off).
    • Once we collect your Chromebook, we’ll offer you a brand new McKean Facemask as a gift. [Please note that we currently have a limited supply of masks and our 2nd order won’t be delivered until June 11. So first come, first served on the masks. (We are working on a plan to get the rest to students at a later date.)
    • Also, if a student ordered a yearbook, we will have a Yearbook table curbside for families to collect their yearbook that is paid for.  If you did NOT order a yearbook, we have extras to sell.  We can accept cash or check for $85.
    • If a student needs to enter the gym or main building for any reason, we’ll direct the vehicle to park in the parking lot. ONE person will exit the car and wait in designated line following social distancing to enter the building through the pool lobby doors.
    • There will be staff in the gym to greet and support students accessing the locker room one at a time.  If a student needs to get something from another part of the building, staff will escort the student to the specific area to retrieve items and exit building promptly using designated entrance/exit.

Internet Access: Click here to find a hotspot

Comcast has opened free Xfinity wifi hotspots nationwide during this national emergency. Anyone, not just Comcast customers, will be able to access the Internet via these hotspots.

Xfinity WiFi hotspots across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free – including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers.

Once at a hotspot, consumers should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots, and then launch a browser.
