• Dear Skyline Families,

     

    Lech Walesa, one stated, “The  thing that lies at the foundation of positive change, the way I see it, is service to a fellow human being.”

     

    I share this message as a reflection of who I am as a person and a leader and what I fundamentally believe the Skyline Learning community can be for its students and families. Each of us  has experienced dynamic changes over the last several months. We have quarantined from colleagues, friends, and family. We have hurdled the uniqueness of delivering non-traditional educational services to  our students. We have witnessed and/or experienced social struggles. We are preparing for and moving through a shift in leadership here at Skyline.

     

    Each of these life changing experiences impacts the foundation of who we are as human beings and how we interact with and respond to each other.  I am a firm believer that while change is inevitable, that change  should not define us.   Rather, our response to change and challenge is what defines us.  As we prepare to move into the 2020-2021 school year, albeit with some present moment of uncertainty,  my hope is to model grace, understanding, flexibility and support  as the pinnacle manner in which we maneuver through the challenges of opening school for our students and establish growth oriented policies, practices and systems. I ask  that each of you consider the same as we strive to  enhance the services that Skyline offers to all of our children and their families.

    SKYLINE MIDDLE SCHOOL CONTINUES TO BE A LEARNING COMMUNITY

     

     

    Skyline Middle School is a true “Learning Community” that is unified in the common philosophy of making meaningful academic engagement of paramount importance. The administration and staff continue to be dedicated to designing lessons that involve the daily planning of diversified activities that will enhance each student’s willingness and ability to succeed at various levels of intensity.

     

    The members of this community work on a daily basis to develop realistic guidelines and procedures to ensure that the ultimate goal of student academic engagement goes forward in a way that honors the concepts of respect and support.

     

    Skyline Middle School’s “Learning Community” has an understanding that communication among parent, student, and school enhances the overall relationship of teacher to learner, teacher to parent, and learner to the academic material. With this serving as our primary philosophy, we know that SMS will continue to provide all students a positive educational experience.
