Parapro Testing

Option 1: PARAPRO TEST IN-PERSON

Option 2: PARAPRO TEST REMOTE

The Department of Education (DOE) now offers ParaPro REMOTE Testing!  As with other remote proctored assessments, candidates must meet equipment and environment requirements prior to testing. View a complete list of requirements, which includes software needs to test on a Mac® and PC.  Once candidates have confirmed that their computer and testing room meet the requirements, they will register and schedule their appointment directly with ProProctor.  Additional information on the ParaPro assessment and remote testing can be found on the ETS website.

 

Eligibility for a Paraeducator Permit:

  • Passed Parapro test and  official high school transcripts or,
  • A minimum of 60 college credits

 NOTE: All documents must be official. Parapro scores sent to HR must be the official score report and high school transcripts or college transcripts must also be official, see below for official document requirements. 

If you hold a paraeducator permit issued by the Department of Education and a paraeducator position in a public or charter school, you may be eligible for an additional stipend. 

 Eligibility for 1K Stipend

  • Must hold an active and valid paraeducator permit

 Eligibility for 2K Stipend:

  • Must have a conferred bachelor’s degree
  • Must hold an active and valid paraeducator permit

 Defining Official

All documents, with the exception of copies of out-of-state and/or national certificates (if applicable), must be official, meaning they must be sent directly from the appropriate third party (e.g., the college/university, testing organization, former employer, independent credentialing agency) to the Department of Education and Red School District by mail or electronically to DEEDS@DOE.k12.de.us and Julie.Gonzalez@RedClay.K12.de.us .. Applicants submitting test scores should be sure to review the Testing Guidelines for test-specific submission procedures.

All photocopies submitted must be in document format (pdf.). Photographic and/or jpg or PNG images are not accepted. Photocopies or scanned pdf documents may be submitted via email to Julie.Gonzalez@RedClay.K12.de.us
