The Red Clay Consolidated School District Board of Education establishes the policies, rules and regulations for the school district. They employ the superintendent, who in turn administers those policies, rules and regulations, and oversees the day-to-day operation of Red Clay schools.
The school board normally meets once a month on the third Wednesday. Meetings typically begin at 7 PM, unless the public meeting notice provides a different starting time. As circumstances dictate, the school board may hold additional meetings.
Board meeting agendas and presentations are available in BoardDocs.
Members
-
The school board is comprised of seven members, each of whom represents a different nominating area of the district.
Board members are elected to five-year terms and they serve without pay.
Catherine H. Thompson, President
Elections
-
School board elections are held in May for terms expiring on June 30 of that year.
Visit the State of Delaware Department of Elections website for more information including polling hours, locations and candidates.
Public Participation in Meetings
-
The school board encourages public participation in its meetings. To address the school board at a public school board meeting, community members must submit a public comment form prior to the start of the meeting.
