Onboarding for New Employees

  • The pre-employment process requires a criminal background check, child protection registry check and a TB (PPD) test. All clearances are required prior to scheduling onboarding. 

    • Required Criminal Background Check- The “Service Code” is attached to this email and is specific to Red Clay Consolidated School District- No other codes will be accepted.
      • Cost: $85

      • Bring Paid Receipt to Onboarding
    • Required Child Protection Registry
      • Save Receipt and bring to onboarding
    • Required PPD Test
      • Must be within the last 12 months
      • Bring results to onboarding

    Please bring the items listed below to onboarding. All forms must be printed at home and completed prior to attending onboarding. Please contact HR if you do not have access to a printer. Forms will be reviewed during onboarding.

    The district may require additional documentation to ensure compliance with Delaware State code and Department of Education regulations. Below is a list of required items. These items must be sent prior to attending onboarding and can be sent to Julie.gonzalez@redclay.k12.de.us . All photocopies must be in a document format. Photographic/jpeg/png images are not accepted. Please note, official transcripts cannot be downloaded from an educator’s DEEDS account.

    Required Documents

    • Teachers
      • Official Transcripts for all degrees and/or coursework obtained.
      • Copy of Out of State License, if not licensed in Delaware
    • Substitute Teachers
      • Official Transcripts for all degrees and/or coursework obtained.
    • Instructional Paraeducators:
      • Copy of para pro assessment and High School transcript (Diplomas not accepted must be a transcript)
        or
      • Official college/university transcript with a minimum of 60 college credits.
    • Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Speech Pathologists, Audiologists, Nurses, Psychologists, Counselors, BCBA’s
      • Official Transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate degrees and/or coursework obtained.
        AND
      • OT/PT’s- Professional License
      • BCBA’s- Professional Board License and BACB Certification
      • Speech Pathologists- ASHA Certification and professional license
      • Psychologists- NCSP Certification
      • Nurses- Professional License, CPR & AED certificate
      • Audiologist- professional license

    Verification of Previous Employment 

    • Credit for previous experience may be issued. Please have your previous employer complete the Verification of Experience Form (Teaching or Non-Teaching). Each year of experience may qualify for a step increase. Step increases increase annual salaries.  Please note, you must complete the form electronically and email it to your previous employer and it must be snet directly to Julie.Gonzalez@Redclay.k12.de.us from your previous employer. Forms from the applicant or from a personal email address will not be accepted. Teachers transferring in from another school district are still required to have their previous districts complete the E-Form to verify current step and ensure an accurate salary.
