Director of Elementary Education
Amy grew up in East Brunswick, NJ. After graduating from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education, she made Delaware her home. She taught middle school math for 7 years then transitioned to the role of dean of discipline, all at Kirk Middle School in the Christina School District. Following this, she served as an assistant principal at Christiana High School for 5 years. Amy then became the principal at Gauger-Cobbs Middle School, where she served for 8 years. During this time, her school came from under improvement by meeting Annual Yearly Progress.
Amy joined the Red Clay team in 2012. As the Manager of School Turnaround, she served and supported schools identified by the state as needing improvement. During her three-year tenure in this role, the schools she worked with met their targets. It was in this role she became deeply involved in working with elementary schools. Amy now serves as the Director of Elementary Education supporting all of the district's elementary schools. Amy loves spending time in schools observing the impact that great teachers and leaders have on student learning.
Amy received her masters and doctorate degrees from Wilmington University. She is committed to learning and growing.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys morning workouts and weekend hikes. Amy is married to Steve, an educator who shares her passion for positively impacting the lives of students.
