Hugh Broomall

  • Deputy Superintendent

     

    With over 20 years of experience in the Delaware education system, Hugh oversees student support services including Curriculum & Instruction, Special Education, School Operations, Federal Programs and Strategic Planning.

     

    Hugh began his career as a special education teacher at the Au Clair School and the Terry Children’s Psychiatric Center. He went on to become the Assistant Principal of John S. Charlton School in Caesar Rodney School District where he established programs and partnerships to give students more inclusive experiences at the high school and college levels.

     

    Hugh joined Red Clay in 2004 as Principal of the Meadowood Program, a position that gave him the opportunity to expand access to inclusive learning for elementary and middle school students. Hugh transitioned to the district office in 2008, where he served as Manager of Human Resources and Assistant Superintendent before being named Deputy Superintendent.

     

    Hugh earned his doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, Administration & Policy from the University of Delaware. He received a Master of Arts in Elementary Special Education from Wilmington University and a Bachelor of Science in Communications from James Madison University.
