WELCOME MR. JASON MARTIN, OUR NEW PRINCIPAL!!

Dear North Star Families,

I am honored to introduce myself as your new principal at North Star Elementary School. With 20 years dedicated to the Red Clay Consolidated School District, I'm thrilled to embark on this exciting new chapter at North Star.

My journey in education began with eleven rewarding years as a first and fourth grade teacher at Marbrook Elementary School. Witnessing the spark of curiosity ignite in young minds solidified my passion for fostering a love of learning. For the past eight years, I have honed my leadership skills as an assistant principal and principal, gaining invaluable experience in school administration. I believe my combined background as an educator and administrator allows me to truly understand the needs of both students and staff.

On a personal note, my wife, Laura, shares my dedication to education as a first grade teacher at Cooke Elementary School. We have been blessed with three sons – Braden, a student at Conrad Middle School, and Ryan and Dylan, who attend Cooke Elementary School alongside their mom. We are excited to become part of the North Star community and look forward to getting to know all of you.

MEET DR. JOY CAMPBELL

Dr. Campbell currently serves as the Assistant Principal at North Star. She has over twenty years of experience in public education in Delaware. To begin her career, she taught high school German for eleven years, instilling in her students a love for language and cultural diversity. With over a decade of experience in school administration at the secondary level, Dr. Campbell has honed her leadership skills and gained a deep understanding of the educational landscape. Her tenure in administration has been marked by a commitment to creating supportive and collaborative environments where both students and educators can thrive. She values the importance of addressing the needs of the whole child, recognizing that emotional well-being and character development are integral to a child's growth.
